R2R’s ongoing Sanitary Landfill Project for LGU Mati City. This facility is a Category 3 SLF designed to accommodate all residual wastes of the city. This is a mandatory SWM disposal infrastructure required under the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 or the RA 9003. The same law mandates all the closure of open/controlled dumpsites in the country and is regulated by the Environmental Management Bureau of the DENR. SLF design parameters are also based on this law.
